The NEC NL6448BC26-27, manufactured by NEC, is a high-performance industrial-grade TFT LCD module designed for demanding embedded and control applications. It features an 8.4-inch diagonal screen with a 640×480 (VGA) resolution, making it ideal for compact interfaces that require clear, stable, and readable graphical output.

This display uses a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is commonly preferred in industrial and legacy systems such as CNC machines, PLC panels, and instrumentation equipment. It supports 16.2 million colors (6-bit + FRC), enabling accurate and smooth visual representation of UI elements, status indicators, and process data.

The panel is built using a-Si TFT (Thin Film Transistor) technology with TN (Twisted Nematic) mode, offering reliable image performance with consistent brightness and contrast. One of its key strengths is its wide viewing angle (up to 80° in all directions), ensuring good visibility from multiple positions, which is critical in operator panels and shared viewing environments.

It is equipped with a White LED backlight system, providing a typical brightness of around 500 cd/m², which ensures good readability even in brightly lit industrial environments. The LED backlight also offers long operational life (around 70,000 hours) and lower power consumption compared to older CCFL systems.

For connectivity, the module uses an LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) interface, typically with a 20-pin connector. This interface ensures high-speed, low-noise signal transmission and compatibility with a wide range of embedded controllers, industrial PCs, and display driver boards.
